Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme claim deadlines and links to the latest guidance

The Government yesterday sent us a lovely raft of emails explaining that they'd updated quite a few bits of the Coronavirus Job Retention Scheme (CJRS) guidance. Many of the updates are to address errors that were in the originally issued documents, or to provide further clarification on calculations etc.

Of particular note though, is the list of possible 'reasonable excuses' for failing to make a claim in time. The new, shorter, deadlines for submitting a claim to HMRC mean that any claims for furlough from 1 November 2020 must be submitted within two weeks of the end of the month the claim falls in, so for example a claim for furlough days in November must be submitted by 14 December 2020. Click here to read the updated guidance and list of examples, although we hope you won’t need them!

The frequency of updates can mean it is tricky to be sure you are always looking at the latest version of the guidance. This link will take you to the Government's main CJRS page from which you can access the latest version of each of the individual guides.
