The Ministry of Justice (MoJ) has today released an ad hoc report including provisional management information on Employment Tribunal (ET) claims received up to September 2013.
The report appears to show no real reduction in the number of claims received following the introduction of fees however the warnings about the quality of the data run to a whole page of the management report. One key factor potentially affecting the data is that claims are not entered onto the ET's system until a fee has been paid or a remission granted. The MoJ have indicated they expect to see the data to be revised upwards as a result.
The judicial review brought by Unison on the introduction of ET fees will be heard at the High Court on 22 and 23 October.
