The Government has today issued a consultation document including draft regulations on mandatory gender pay gap reporting. These draft regulations have been published because section 78 of the Equality Act 2010 includes a requirement for the Government to put measures in place this year requiring employers with 250 or more employees to publish pay information showing whether there are differences in pay between male and female employees.
The Regulations are expected to come into force on 1 October 2016, requiring relevant employers to publish their first pay information on 30 April 2017.
The consultation closes on 11 March. We'll be discussing gender pay gap reporting as well as all the other latest developments in employment law on our Spring employment law update on 3 March at etc venues, London. There are just a few places left so give us a call or follow this link for more information or to book your place.
