We were delighted to see so many people join us for the Law on Tour in April and can now reveal that the Autumn Law on Tour will kick off in Leeds on 1 November 2022. We will be in Cardiff on 2 November, London on 3 November and 11 November, Manchester on 16 November and finish off with a virtual version on 18 November. Bookings will open on 7 July 2022.
Last month the Breakfast Briefing was about persistent intermittent absence, a subject that kept the chat box very busy during the briefing! Our next 30-minute Breakfast Briefing with Cas Carrington, Partner, will be at 9am on 7 July 2020 and will cover how to deal with employees who are absent without leave.
Piers Chadwick, Partner, is not enjoying the impact of the recent presidential guidance for employment tribunals on how they should deal with evidence by video or telephone from persons located abroad. The guidance sets out that enquiries must be made of the foreign state where the person is located to ascertain whether it objects to evidence being given orally to a tribunal in the UK from within its territory. You can imagine how many hearings are being postponed while enquiries are made!
