New right to attend antenatal visits

Effective today, prospective fathers and partners of pregnant women have the right to attend two antenatal visits.  They are allowed a maximum of 6.5 hours for each visit during working hours.   The right, which is for unpaid time off work, also applies to intended parents in a surrogacy arrangement who meet specified conditions.

Cas Carrington and Marco Marenda will be running sessions on the new right to Shared Parental Leave, and all the associated new rights, on the Autumn CIPD Law on Tour. Booking is via the CIPD website.
