Plan B and the longer term implications

The Government has announced that from 13 December 2021 people who can work from home, should do so.  From 15 December 2021 certain venues and events will be required by law to check that all visitors aged 18 years or over are fully vaccinated or have proof of a negative test in the last 48 hours or have an exemption. 

The announcement regarding Covid-19 passports will potentially strengthen the case for any employers considering the introduction of a requirement for staff to be vaccinated.  Of course, we won’t know until it is tested but if the Government is now considering limiting where unvaccinated people can go then it seems logical that this may give more weight to an employer’s argument that to keep their workforce safe, they require employees to be vaccinated as a condition of employment.
