Vodafone recently commissioned research into how good parental support could help organisations attract the best talent. A poll of more than 2000 adults showed that more than a third of people, and more than half of 18-34 year-olds would be more likely to apply for a job if they knew the employer had good parental leave policies. 12% of people, and 25% of 18-34 year-olds had decided not to apply for a job because they thought their prospective employer’s parental leave policies were inadequate. Many prospective applicants agreed that parental leave policies are a useful indication of whether an organisation is a good employer, even if they are not planning to have a baby themselves.
The report also makes recommendations for the Government and employers on how to provide greater support for new parents and caregivers in the workplace.
We’ll be covering parental leave and other special leaves as part of the Spring 2022 Law on Tour, which kicks off in Leeds on 5 April 2022 and includes a number of venues across the UK before finishing with a webinar version on 29 April.
