Changes to protective awards

Following the Government consultation on changes to protective awards, there will be an increase to the cap on awards from 90 days (real pay per affected employee) to 180 days’ pay.  Ouch!

The proposal concerning interim relief to be available for when protective awards are made, will not be brought forward as it is considered to be an unreasonable burden on businesses, and tribunals. Phew!
