The Government announced today changes to the employment tribunal system which include the employment of 1600 more staff, technology to allow more remote hearings to be held, legal officers carrying out some administrative tasks previously performed by employment judges and refining the early conciliation and employment tribunal rules. There will also be the option of deploying non-employment judges in employment tribunals.
Most changes will take effect from 8 October 2020 with the EC rule changes coming into force on 1 December 2020.
