The government has today announced that it has put back the start date of the requirement for employers to advise workers of their right to join a trade union until January 2027. The implementation date was originally 30 October 2026. A standard form of words, provided by government, must be used with no variations being acceptable. New workers must receive the statement directly with their written particulars. Employers will be able to provide existing workers with the statement either directly or indirectly but in a form that is reasonably accessible.
