Fasten your seat belt - the ride just got an awful lot rockier!

On 21 October, the Government launched a consultation about increasing the protective award for failure to collectively consult from 90 days’ uncapped pay for each affected employee to either 180 days uncapped pay, or removing the cap completely.  The consultation is also seeking views as to whether interim relief should be available to employees bringing a protective award, and to those bringing claims of unfair dismissal under the new restrictions in the Employment Rights Bill concerning dismissal and re-engagement.

We will be discussing all the Governments proposals in the Employment Rights Bill, their consultations, and other employment proposals on the Law on Tour in November.
