From 1 December 2025, the HR1 form that must be sent to the Redundancy Payments Service when an employer proposes to dismiss 20 or more employees from one establishment, must be completed digitally. The new system doesn’t autosave and if you leave the page for more than 90 minutes you’ll have to start all over again.
There are a few helpful changes to the form but the one that will no doubt cause some issues is that the new form will not accept future consultation start dates, meaning that consultation must be underway or beginning the day of submission, so forward planning will be a must!
